Eureka is a new unit within SAP S/4 HANA with the purpose to build, learn, and take new SaaS applications to market that delight our customers and fill needs in our current S/4HANA product offerings.

As a product manager, you will work on a specific project critical to SAP S/4’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our product managers to be THE advocate for the product. In addition to being customer-centric, they must be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems as we continue to push product forward.
The Product Manager is responsible for the success, quality, cost management and delivery of a product in the whole product lifecycle. The product manager is the role model of product mindset. Our products are in the realm of ERP, specifically Finance and Sales.
Overall duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensure product definition:
Actively follows and shares developments and trends regarding new SAP and complimentary partner service and product offerings, industry trends and other topic areas relevant for the respective domain.
Ensure customer input into all product definitions.
Co-define product backlog, specifically write epics and user stories which reflects customer and user needs to achieve competitive advantage and increases the value for the customer.
Provides holistic overview on overall product backlog and ensures Product team and related Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of the product backlog. Work with the Scrum teams to groom user stories into backlog items.
Ensures rollout plan of functionality.
Ensure product delivery:
Drives holistic product vision and product design and ensures all involved Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of it.
Develops test cases and/or conducts expert testing and validates planned and implemented scope throughout product lifecycle and ensures delivery of high-quality software.
Accepts or rejects sprint results per epic, user story and backlog item
Creates product-related non-coded assets.
Ensures the delivery of a product to implement the strategy.
Collects & incorporates early feedback from Customers and other relevant stakeholders.
Ensures both the internal stakeholders & external ecosystem is aware of the developments by working closely with stakeholders and customer groups.
Lives innovative thinking and a product mindset.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in business software product management
Proven track record of building a product (feature) vision and then leading the execution of the vision by detailing strategy, roadmap and scoping in a particular product/solution area
Technical understanding of cloud native application and its implications to product management
Proven ability to support strategic deals and be viewed as a thought leader by customers
Very strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to rapidly gather data, structure hypotheses, and develop synthesized findings/recommendations
Strong team orientation and ability to thrive on virtual, international, cross-functional teams
Excellent functional knowledge of wholesale distribution, consumer products, or retail is a plus
Proven track record of success of independently leading software development programs/projects with practical experience in software development and/or product management
Understanding and practicing of product management frameworks
