Position Overview:

This position evaluates and performs functional, system, regression and performance testing on business applications and supports Business Systems Analysts in analysis of business needs, process improvements and new technologies. The individual verifies that programs conform and function according to established standards and develops procedures to efficiently create and execute test plans, track defects, resolve identified issues and verify that applications conform and function according to established standards.

Essential Functions:

Consult with Business Systems Analysts, developers and team members to review project requests and determine testing plans, timelines and goals for testing projects.

Formulate and define functional, regression and master suite testing plans.

Develop test plans, procedures, cases, data development, environment set-up and execution.

Formulate and define project scope and objectives of project.

Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.

Coordinate activities of project team members to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.

Lead effort to standardize documentation on test processes and methodologies and work with cross-functional development teams to formulate quality standards and procedures.

Documents all areas of the process including writing use cases, user guides, manuals or other tools, and automated testing scripts.

Analyze and monitor program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and to ensure operational efficiency.

Formulate and define test plans and procedures; perform testing of programs and overall system performance including unit, system regression and integration testing in conjunction with all project requests.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in math, computer science, business management, management information systems, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

3-5 years of experience in a software development environment as an application tester, business analyst or technical writer.

Intermediate knowledge of software methodology processes.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Critical thinker who demonstrates a high level of initiative, attention to detail and accuracy, as well as the willingness to learn and change in a dynamic environment.

Proven client service skills and effective team skills are essential.

Experience practicing SCRUM/Agile methodologies is preferred.

Above average written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail, with a quality focus are essential.

Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
