Act as the focal point for all quality issues raised within aircraft build in order to manage an efficient process for non-conformance issues within the aircraft build stage. Ideally the successful candidate will have knowledge of electrical and avionic systems.
Grade for the role is up to PE dependent on relevant skills and experience.
Key Responsibility Areas
Act as the focal point for all quality issues raised within aircraft build.
Ensure applicable technical and quality standards are disseminated and actioned by the relevant stakeholders and they conform to the Company Operating System.
Carry out investigations of all quality arisings during the development, modification, overhaul, repair and delivery of the product, ensuring that effective containment, corrective and preventative actions are implemented and documented in order to manage an efficient process for non-conformance issues within the aircraft build stage.
Create Quality Notifications where required making sure the non-conformance detail is accurately reflected and place appropriate tasks on internal plants and suppliers.
Carry out the role of Facilitator and Co-ordinator for Quality Notifications, negotiating with relevant stakeholders for timely closure, and ensuring that effective containment, corrective and preventive actions are implemented and recorded as required.
Interrogate SAP to identify non-conformance trends, including root cause analysis.
Expedite Advance Release of parts, in conjunction with Logistics and Procurement, for aircraft build due to shortages generated by non-conformance. Co-ordinate the closure of the associated documentation.
Conduct Departmental Reviews to ensure adherence to the Company Operating System, Functional Manual and other contractual and regulatory requirements.
Undertake receipt inspections of aircraft that return to LHD, Surveillance audits during build / maintenance and, pre-delivery inspections on all aircraft types. Ensure airworthiness standards are maintained, reporting findings and issues to the Line Quality Control Manager.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
Educated to ONC/OND in an engineering capacity, and relevant experience and training.
Significant experience in a technical aviation environment.
Lead auditor to AS EN 9100 and ISO 9001.
A comprehensive knowledge of LH and equivalent military aircraft documentation.
Experience in the manufacture/maintenance of aircraft and aircraft systems relevant to the approval and certification for flight.
Comprehensive experience of manufacturing procedures, processing and inspection requirements.
A full understanding of the Company Operating System and Departmental Functional Manuals.
A full understanding of the Company non conformance management system with the training and knowledge to raise, co ordinate and facilitate Quality Notifications.
A working knowledge of LH engineering specifications.
The ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of management internally and externally.
Experienced in problem solving techniques with an understanding of Failure Mode Effect Analysis process and System Process Control.
Computer literacy including competence with Microsoft Office software.
Excellent team working skills and the ability to lead, interface with and manage cross functional teams.
Pro-active and self-motivated with an ability to work using own initiative to achieve demanding deadlines.
