Overview of Position:

To be the face of Bevan Buckland LLP and the first contact point in person or on the telephone with all visitors and clients. To be professional, cheerful, welcoming and helpful at all times, making each contact a valued experience for our clients, callers and visitors.

Key Deliverables:

  • Represent the firm at all times with the highest levels of customer care, integrity and professionalism
  • Answer the telephone within 5 rings and announce transferred calls, being professional, enthusiastic and polite at all times
  • Meet and greet all visitors in a professional, friendly manner and inform relevant member of staff that their visitor has arrived
  • Open, sort and scan incoming mail
  • Frank all outgoing mail
  • Ensure reception area is kept in good order
  • Carry out photocopying, scanning, binding and faxing as and when required
  • Maintain stationery stock levels and re-order as required
  • Arrange couriers as and when required
  • Keep office calendar up to date on Outlook
  • Control booking of meeting rooms
  • Provide tea and coffees as required and to keep stocks of items refreshed
  • Submission of accounting and tax paperwork
  • Credit card payments
  • Manage reception petty cash
  • Process credit/debit card transactions
  • Provide other administrative support as and when required
  • Deliver on all agreed targets and objectives
  • Carry out any other duties as and when required
  • To continually review existing processes/procedures for continuous improvement

Essential Criteria

Education :


  • Proven experience of greeting visitors and making all feel welcome in a positive and friendly manner
  • Experience of working in a reception environment-Experience of administrative duties and office procedures

Knowledge :

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office to a competent level within an office environment, especially MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Desirable Criteria

-NVQ Level 2/3 Customer Service or Business Administration

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £17,600.00-£18,000.00 per year

Administrative Duties:

  • Carrying out requests from management as needed
  • Answering emails and sorting post
  • Answering phone calls and transferring them as necessary
  • Greeting and welcoming visitors
