Increasing to £35,231 after successful completion of a 6 months probation period

The Role: *
We are seeking a Research Manager to provide support to the CEO by researching and reporting on sector, policy, service and client data held both internally and externally to identify key business intelligence needed for robust decision making. You will be responsible for considering policy development, exploring opportunities for the charity and investigation to identify trends. You will support Leadership to ensure delivery remains compatible to the vision and goals of the organisation, enabling Migrant Help to voice and champion development within the sector.

Working with internal and external stakeholders across the UK, you will ensure data is captured and evaluated, to further support evidence-led decisions. You will be comfortable using a range of research methodologies to produce actionable insights. You will be confident and clear in explaining information to technical and non-technical colleagues, using reports, presentations, storytelling and data dashboards. Aware of the value insight brings and its impact on existing and future programmes, you will be a proactive enabler, leading the C-Suite on the provision of Business Intelligence.

To be successful in this role, you will understand the problems we are trying to solve and can produce and communicate research plans and findings in clear, accessible, and engaging ways. You are confident in helping colleagues to understand the value research and can support teams to utilise research findings in the design, delivery and improvement of services, ensuring outcomes are client focused.

This role will contribute to the overall success of our organisation in accordance with Migrant Helps visions, values and objectives. The postholder will be responsible for demonstrating the culture and ethos of the charity, leading with integrity and collaborating across the organisation to further the strategy of Migrant Help.

Sees the bigger picture and can translate business challenges and user needs into relevant, actionable research plans and objectives.

  • Possesses commercial experience in research, insight, data, and storytelling both verbally and in writing.
  • Has quantitative and qualitative research experience.
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen, strong communication, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Works effectively with stakeholders with a strong client focus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand user needs and requirements by working closely with teams across the organisation to gather evidence using a range of research techniques supporting the delivery of products and/or services ensuring outcomes that are client-focused.
  • Lead on business intelligence activities from initial planning, through to information gathering, analysis and report writing.
  • Support the establishment of client-centred design approach, that will solve business problems and meet client needs within identified constraints.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations credibly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Be highly visible across the organisation as an advocate for research, engaging and building trust to create a culture that promotes the use of business intelligence as a priority.
  • Partner with colleagues to add maximum value to projects and develop a high-performing community of best practice.
  • Provide support with the writing of reports for both internal and external use.
  • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, and to develop their skills in a range of applied research methods.
