What you will be doing
Work with a team of world-leading experts in the fields of computer vision, scene understanding, and trajectory planning to realize advanced technology concepts
Propose and execute novel research projects
Review literature and identify state-of-the art technologies
Assist in the development and implementation of new algorithms with potential applications in both research and mass production
Deploy, and perform rigorous evaluation, empirical and otherwise, of algorithms and software implementations
Communicate your work effectively through presentations and reports to stakeholders
Write papers, reports, and patents, all towards publishing your research in academic conferences such as ICRA, IROS, RSS, AAAI, IJCAI, IV, and ITSC.
Maintain and expand your knowledge about research advances and tools by reading papers, maintaining connections with academic and industry research networks, attending conferences, participating in professional organizations, and identifying educational opportunities.
Requirements for you to succeed in this role
Master’s in Computer Science, Aeronautics and Astronautics, Mathematics, Statistic, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis on the practical challenges of deploying robots in the real-world.
Exceptional candidates with 1 or more years of relevant experience in a professional or graduate-level academic context will be considered, so long as you have consistently demonstrated your research expertise and in-depth knowledge in more than one of the technical areas listed above
Solid foundation in software development, with competence using C, C++, Python, and/or Julia.
Passion for doing research and development at the edge of human knowledge.
Ways to stand out from the crowd
Track record of publications in top-tier robotics venues, experience filing patents
Authorship of relevant software/libraries available for download on, e.g., GitHub
Experience using Git in a collaborative software engineering team environment
Experience working with ROS, ideally both in simulation using tools like Rviz and running your code on a real robot
Publications at top academic conferences in AI and robotics
Experience working in industry, especially in the intersection of AI and robotics
Experience working on autonomous vehicles, in simulated domains or in the real world
