Join the team and be a key player in the freight team based in Shannon reporting to the Shannon Branch Director and work closely in supporting the overall deliverables of the Shannon Branch and the National Road Logistics strategy.

YOUR ROLE

Your role is to lead and develop the Shannon Road Logistics Team to ensure Best in Class service to our customers. You will develop the profile and business of the Road Logistics product in the Logistics marketplace in Ireland, build excellent relationships with customers and ensure effective Financial Management of the Department including effective customer invoicing, GP and cost management and driving improved customer profitability

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for all staff within the Shannon Road Logistics Operation including all aspects of people management, employee recruitment & on boarding, performance management, workload allocation and employee wellbeing.

Driving effective communications across the team and business via daily huddles, departmental meetings, 1:1s, and line manager meetings. Managing the day-to-day operations in a busy and faced paced freight department.

Identifying opportunities to increase the profitability of the Road Logistics Department by targeting new customers and/or increasing business and building relationships with existing customers.

Escalation point for customer challenges and issues, respond to all customer complaints in a timely manner with accurate and complete information

Managing the relationship with carriers/hauliers/subcontractors and third parties.

Management of FSL (accruals, deferrals, supplier invoices, customer invoicing etc.).

Develop in depth knowledge of all aspects of the role to ensure full ownership.

Maintaining and/or implementing good working practices & procedures to ensure that the department run efficiently. Proactive participation and adherence to the company QSHE processes and systems.

Ensure that all the staff receives adequate training in all KN systems, policies, procedures and practices. Develop all staff by assisting and encouraging them to look for innovative ways of performing more productively.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

Preferable to have excellent multi modal Freight & Logistics understanding. Experience in a similar position in the past and distribution expertise including managing a team.

Used to work Maintaining and/or implementing good working practices & procedures to ensure that the department run efficiently and with professionalism.

Proactive participation and adherence to the company QSHE system.

Delivering excellence in quality and customer service every time.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent Interpersonal skills. The ability to establish a rapport with a wide range of individuals and organisations.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
