What youâll learn & achieve::
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing chargeable work through testing and report writing. Full training will be given along with procedure(s) for test methodology.
Under minimal supervision, the Laboratory Technician sets-up and performs a variety of tests within areas of responsibility, where basic knowledge of the underlying scientific and engineering fundamentals is required.
You will also povide feedback regarding tests and data sheets. You may also plan tests, evaluate test results and report opinions and interpretations.
To undertake chargeable testing, report writing and other consulting duties.
The Engineer/Technician should be able to perform with minimum supervision once training is completed and should be able to tackle problems in a systematic way.
To assist the team in maintaining accreditation standards such as; equipment and site maintenance, ensure adequate record keeping, assist the other Engineers, and expediting technical reports.
To update the company work monitoring systems with accurate details and job status for each item of work for which the Engineer/Technician is responsible
To meet customer delivery requirements in all respects.
To undertake any ad hoc duties as may be required.
Any other duties as defined in the UL Solutions Staff Handbook and the Quality Control Manual.

We’d like for you to have an applied degree or equivalent in a telecoms or communications subject
You must be committed to balancing between conflicting needs, in particular the needs of the customer and the contraints of the business
we like people who are personable, keen to learn, ask questions and are not afraid to ask for support when needed
A general understanding of IT/computers and you will have used MS Office before
Good organisational skills
An applied degree in Electronics
Experience in practial chemistry
A good understanding of RF Communication methods
Knowledge of SAR (Specific Absorbtion Rate) test methods
