Job Description

The person appointed will be supervised by Drs Tony Ford and Valeria Cazzaniga and Professor Sir Mel Greaves and will be part of a team using a mouse model to evaluate the possibility of prevention of infection-driven leukaemia via manipulation of the gut microbiome. The team have an excellent, long term track record in studying the natural history, genetics and aetiology of childhood leukaemia.

For this position, we are seeking a highly motivated Scientific Officer with expertise and interest in cancer biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for different activities including helping with in vivo experiments, sample processing, tissue culture, general molecular biology techniques and microbiome analysis.

Starting salary is likely to be £26,000 per annum but with a range of £26,000 to £33,600 p.a. The post will be for 3 years in the first instance. This post also benefits from generous annual leave entitlement and defined benefit pension scheme. Salary increase is determined by annual performance reviews.

The post will be primarily based in the ICR, Sutton.
