Imagine helping people find their dream home every single day! Every month over 180 million shoppers use the Shopping Journey team’s services to compare homes, make tradeoffs, and decide which home to tour next. This team builds APIs and services that help customers do just that, and at scale of millions of requests per day. They own services like Saved Search, Favorite Homes, Hidden Homes, Co-Shopping, Location Awareness, and others. The team is developing and launching a robust service infrastructure to support efficient and reliable shopping experiences for our biggest audience. We seek exciting architectural challenges and strive to drive the technical direction for the company.
With data on more than 110 million homes and 180 million users each month, 4 of every 5 homes across America have been viewed on Zillow. In October, more than 1 billion homes were viewed on mobile devices alone – that’s 396 homes per second!
About the role
We are looking for a highly technical, inventive, customer-focused product manager. They have a proven record in tackling end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing business environment.
Champion our new services and features with other product teams across the United States.
Work with developers to ship products in an agile and dynamic environment.
Ultimately, you will own execution end-to-end; identify what truly matters and find ways to make it happen quickly.
Our services are designed to handle millions of customers a day and this role will include delivering scalability, reliability and high performance.
Own the roadmap of scaling our services and through GraphQL and Containers.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
Who you are
7+ years in a product or program management role.
Deeply Technical. You have a deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and web services technologies at scale.
Highly Analytical. You use data to make decisions and are comfortable assembling it yourself or working with others.
Product Owner. You know how to take ideas, define products, work with partners, and ship features.
Results-Oriented. You are able to cut to the core of a problem, identify what needs to be done and when, and work with the development team to get solutions shipped.
Experience defining projects, driving requirements, writing functional specs and coordinating projects across multiple teams and organizations.
Strong written and oral interpersonal skills.
In additional to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
