We are hiring a Shop Foreman for our Shop located in Mississauga.

What you will be doing

Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements

Collaborate with other supervisors and staff members in order to formulate and implement other policies, procedures, goals and objectives

Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts and government regulations

Promote safe work activities

Direct and coordinate, through subordinates, activities of operations department in order to obtain use of equipment, facilities, and human resources

Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as material handling, employee orientation, quality improvement and computer use

Participate in disciplinary process or settlements of grievances

Supervise and direct the members of the maintenance team (mechanics/technicians)

Manage and support member of the operations team with day to day operational duties

Follow the schedule of preventative maintenance and annual inspections

Diagnose and repair issues on the fleet vehicles

Responsible for keeping the equipment according to the company policies and regulations

Complete weekly reports

Ensure the training of staff

Perform all other related duties

What we are looking for

Good sense of leadership, structuring, execution, negotiation and judgement

Strong teamwork and partnership orientation

Sense of urgency, outstanding communication and problem solving skills

Strong critical thinking and active listening skills

Must have 3-5 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing issues on vehicles

Must have 1-2 years experience in supervising unionized employees

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Be driven by customer and personal service

Firearm training/license: if non, contingent on passing all necessary security clearance + courses provided

Must be Class T certified
