Aufgaben

At Mercedes-Benz, we invented the car and now, we strive for nothing less than taking the lead in car software. We will do this with a our own proprietary Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS) and strong partners like NVIDIA. MBOS is a holistic, software focussed approach from the hardware over embedded software, the intelligent could up to the IoT. It eases the software development and deployment across ECUs and the cloud, thus allowing greater speed, more frequent updates and upgrades, mastering the increasing complexity and will be designed around scalable architectures.

As an MBOS Software-Architect (all genders) you will work with Software-Architects and colleagues all over R&D on the Software-Architecture of the Mercedes-Benz Operating Systems (MBOS) and its deployment to all the ECUs from high computing platform to mechatronic real-time system.

Shape innovations

You and your colleagues are responsible for developing the overall principle based architecture for the whole car software as guidance for software development.

Master complexity

Your responsibility includes the development of overarching architectural rules, patterns and guidelines as well as required processes, technologies and tools to implmement and enforce them. Thereby you consider the impact of relevant regulations such as FuSa, OBD, Security etc.

Creativity and freedom

You work in a dynamic environment and you have the courage to leave the usual approaches behind. You use the freedom in design requirements skillfully to achieve the apperently immpossible.

Guarantee customer value and Quality

You develop methods and solutions to enforce architectural rules, measure and guarantee exceptional quality by automated means.

Qualifikationen

Your qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar Engineering degree

Knowledge and experience in Software-Architecture methods, design and documentation

Operating System and Middleware knowledge: Realtime-POSIX OS (QNX), Linux, Hypervisor, Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR

Experience in FuSa, OBD, Security, etc. with regard to the impact on the Software-Architecture and processes

Experience in CI/CD based verification of architectural rules, patterns and guidelines

Programming languages (C, C++, python,)

Knowledge in Real-Time and Safety relevant (automotive) Embedded Systems

Familiarity with ASPICE is a plus

Proficient in English and good German knowledge

Well-developed communication and teamwork skills

Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting in technical issues

Quick-wittedness and outstanding capability to familiarize with complex issues

Ability to get to the heart of the matter and convey it to others

Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
