Department Description:
The Global Business Services (GBS) team is responsible for Salesforce’s Global Shared Services organization including strategy, performance management, reporting, escalation management, data analytics, process/project management, systems and policies servicing several Salesforce.com business units including but not limited to Finance, Procurement, HR, IT, Customer Success, Legal, Compliance, Sales and Marketing. The Sr. Business Analyst in Global Business Services (GBS) team will have diverse responsibilities focusing on operations support, process improvement, transition support,, as well as operational/executive reporting, SLA/KPI metrics, supporting key business and operational initiatives, among other critical activities. The role will report to the Manager, Business Intelligence within Global Shared Services (GSS) and will be managing a team of shared services employees globally. Role description:
As the Sr. Business Analyst role within the Global Shared Services and Office of Transformation group at Salesforce, you will work cross-functionally with business stakeholders throughout the organization to drive data driven decisions. This individual must excel in data and statistical analysis, process optimization, building relationships in business and IT functions, problem-solving, and communication. S/he must act independently and own the implementation and impacts of assigned projects, and demonstrate the ability to be successful in an unstructured, team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with large, complex data sets, experience in the technology industry, exceptional analytical skills, and experience in developing technical solutions.

Partner with Shared Services Stakeholder organizations to understand their business needs and utilize advanced analytics to derive actionable insights

Understand data infrastructure and validate data is cleansed and accurate for reporting requirements.

Communicate insights utilizing Salesforce data visualization tools (Tableau CRM and Tableau) and make business recommendations (cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis) with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information

Partner cross functionally with other business application owners on streamlining and automating reporting methods for Shared Services management and stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate a roadmap of project activity that leads to measurable improvement in business performance metrics/key performance indicators (KPIs) over time.

Design, build and maintain dashboards in Tableau and Tableau CRM (formally called Einstein Analytics).

Develop advanced data visualizations using best practices to effectively solve business problems

Develop validation processes to ensure data accuracy across various dashboards

Develop and provide training on new and existing dashboards to various business units.

Support ad-hoc dashboard and data requests to provide insights to various teams

Resolve various issues and bug fixes as part of the validation process and maintain the new feature request roadmap

Analyze large volumes of data using various tools like Salesforce Einstein Analytics, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, etc.

Provide recommendations for reporting improvements and build proof-of-concept processes utilizing best practices for SFDC and data management.

Document processes, best practices, and requirements of various use cases in a way that can be understood by technical and business stakeholders.

Work with the Finance team and to research and provide data analysis and metrics.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or similar. Will also consider other degrees with relevant experience.

5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics

3+ years of experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Spotfire, or similar tools; direct Tableau or Tableau CRM (Einstein Analytics) experience preferred

Solid organizational skills, including attention to details

Passion for visualization, reporting, and documentation

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (VBA, Google scripts a plus)

Ability to quickly understand technical subjects and learn new emerging technologies

Strong research and problem-solving abilities are required.

Team player/ team first mindset, comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders

Communicates in a clear, concise, and timely manner and operates effectively as a team player

Must be comfortable with changing requirements and priorities

Must be results-oriented and able to move forward without complete information

High level of confidence and comfort in working autonomously without constant supervision (self-starter, strong initiative, fast learner)

Preferred qualifications

Exper ience analyzing data related to daily functions of a Shared Services organization (e.g. incident ticket volume, ticket response and resolution time, spend, customer satisfaction)

Experience working for shared services organizations, major outsourced providers or management consulting firm

Tableau Certification a plus (Tableau Desktop: Certified Professional, Certified Associate, Specialist)

Experience with Python, R preferred

Experience or familiarity with Salesforce platform preferred

Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, ETL, Datamart and reporting systems (i.e., Business Objects)

Experience with databases and writing SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.. )
