Perform the role of a Product Specialist in Backline Support organization being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Kafka and related components of CDP/CDF stack.
Work on complex issues along with the Front Line Support Engineers to help troubleshoot and resolve complex customer reported issues.
Perform the role of a technical bridge between Front Line Team and Engineering.
Write detailed runbooks and knowledge base articles for the components in the area of expertise.
Contribute to the diagnostics requirements for the components in the area of expertise.
Proactively engage on customer reported issues to bring down case resolution times.
Root cause analysis of Severity 1 incidents suggesting recommendations to improve proactive management of Cloudera deployments.
Perform Closed Loop Review (CLR) process to identify efficiencies and improve product supportability.
Troubleshoot performance, scalability bottlenecks and suggest solutions
Lead and run weekly WAR rooms to discuss critical issues that need assistance.
Design and build component level training, workshops and advanced lab exercises in the area of expertise.
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
5-9 years of enterprise software support experience
Very good Linux and C/C++ or Java Troubleshooting skills.
Expertise in scripting (Shell, Python, Ruby, etc.) is a plus.
Working knowledge of distributed messaging systems
Experience with Cloud Platforms is a big plus.
Knowledge of Hadoop and its ecosystem is preferred.
Passionate about troubleshooting and resolving complex issues with faster turnaround times.
Good knowledge on networking and security (Kerberos, SSL/TLS) concepts.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated creative problem solving ability
