Statistician-Chemical Development in Albany, NY

The newly created role of Statistician will become an integral part of the AMRI Chemical Development team, contributing to our success by working with the chemistry teams on optimizing processes for the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

In this role, you will:

Process and Analyze reaction data for correlation to process variables

Analyze and interpret data reports and make recommendations addressing business needs

Design and interpret Design of Experiments (DoE) for process chemists

Present findings to clients and prepare written reports summarizing results

Train colleagues in statistical techniques

This position may allow for remote location and/or work from home for the right candidate

Qualifications

Qualifications and background to be successful in this role:

Required

Master’s Degree in Statistics with two years of industrial experience or a BS degree with five years of experience

• Familiarity with JMP software

• Strong written and oral communication skills in order to:

o train colleagues in statistical techniques

o prepare detailed reports

o effectively present information to colleagues, customers, and management

Preferred

Background in a Scientific discipline, especially one related to chemistry or drug discovery

• Familiarity with Dynochem/Reaction Lab

Knowledge of organic chemistry and the drug development process
