Job Description

The Big Picture:
James Howden Holdings, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Stock Controller to perform the stores function by ensuring accurate, safe and efficient receiving and dispatching of stock & WIP through the use of proper control systems and processes.

What needs to be done?

Purchasing stock, consumables and inventory for factory requirements

Develop and implement proper control measures for the stores to run as per set standards and within agreed time framework.

Receipt of stock and work in progress goods to ensure that stock levels are adequate.

Packing of stock in designated places and create enough storage for items received according to set standards.

Ensure that all receipts are in accordance with AX, SOX and GOM processes and procedures.

Ensure all stock and WIP is issued in accordance with AX, SOX and GOM requirements using Pick lists and requisitions for consumables.

Perform periodic stock counting and reporting within agreed framework.

Responsible for shipping admin activities for any shipments required.

Ensure that all queries are attended to and internal customers as well as vendors are provided with feedback to avoid problems from escalating.

At all times adhere to environmental, health and safety standards to ensure all operations are conducted in a safe manner

Keep the receiving area maintained to comply with good housekeeping policies and procedures.

What do you need to bring?

Grade 12/ Matric.

Supply Chain/ Inventory/Stock Control qualification

Minimum 3 years in stores, logistics and warehousing environment .

Stores and Buying experience .

Production Experience .

Knowledge of ERP/MRP .

Computer Literate with advanced MS Excel skills.

Basic financial and administration skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
