The US Strategic Accounts Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics aimed at creating access, disease education and partnership opportunities to deliver the value proposition with selected Strategic Accounts, Institutions, IDNs and large Group Practice Networks. The individual must have the ability to work cross-functionally, cross collaboratively, and possess the ability to lead without formal authority to execute on the ONE Alexion principle. The position reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Accounts. Preferred city to live near is Philadelphia.
To meet the needs of our customers and be as efficient as possible as an organization, the strategic account director interacts with health system accounts, IDN, and large alternative care site customers. The account team will operate as a synergistic team with all internal partners to achieve the strategic objectives of ONE Alexion. In general, this position will:
Identify gaps and opportunities within aligned therapeutic areas assessing these gaps using needs and readiness assessment score process for identified strategic accounts.
In addition, He/She will assist in development of customer centric initiatives that align with the capabilities and products of Alexion to reach more untreated patients.
The individual will also be involved in business development to create pipeline opportunities and collaborative partnerships geared towards patient care. Accordingly, an essential element of success is a demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and successfully negotiate to align cross-functional and cross-geography interests (e.g. medical, HEOR, regional leadership).
Job Overview Objectives
Interacts with and creates mutually beneficial B2B relationships with assigned customers
Call on important customer groups that may include but not be limited to C-Suite, VP level, Administration and Formulary Committee members, Business Development personnel and innovative thinkers that will work to develop mutually beneficial programs and initiatives.
Serves as the strategic coordinator of all activities within assigned health system accounts, IDN, and strategic accounts.
Navigates and interprets the external environment, identifying business opportunities, allocating resources and reviewing implementation while coordinating all pull through efforts within the target account.
Develops and synchronizes a Strategic Account Plan with internal stakeholders including other customer facing teams and other internal team members e.g. Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, and Diagnostics, etc.
Seeks to expand business opportunities by bringing high level knowledge, insights, relationships and strategies to enhance our value proposition and achieve optimal positioning within these important targeted customers
Discuss relevant administrative topics (e.g. formulary inclusion, incorporation into hospital guidelines and protocols, coverage and reimbursement) with hospital P&T committee, High cost drug committees and other key stakeholders.
Enable access to key decision makers by developing opportunities within the customer base in the assigned area accounts by partnering with the Regional Sales Director
