What Are We Looking For?

FortisAlberta is looking for a Supervisor Warehouse Operation who will be responsible for the supervision of all activities within the warehouse. The position is also responsible for ensuring all project deadlines are met, including special material requests and site deliveries. In addition, the Supervisor will work with key stakeholders from Operations, Procurement, and additional business units to develop and implement policies and procedures to increase productivity and improve service in the field and warehouse. The Supervisor will empower and motivate the warehouse team in achieving predetermined productivity, cost, and quality standards.

Day to day, the Supervisor Warehouse Operation will be accountable for the knowledge and enforcement of all safe work practices in addition to managing individual and site KPI metrics to establish standards and best practices for shipping, receiving, and returns. SOX Controls knowledge in the administration of standards and practices related to the integrity of the inventory is required. This role will assist the Manager Warehouse and Logistics with the development and maintenance of the annual budget while providing recommendations to existing practices and processes to improve performance and customer service.

The Supervisor Warehouse Operations will also manage all elements of employee relations, including working closely with Human Resources on hiring, terminations, training and performance appraisals for the employee file, administering progressive discipline, and resolving labour relations issues and/or grievances.

This role will support in the development, implementation and maintenance of department measurements and will also include a review of Safety Incident reports and metrics and work with Safety to implement corrective actions and monitor results. Other special projects and duties will be assigned.

Solid analytical skills with an attention to detail, with the ability to identify and implement new methods, processes and technology for efficiency improvement.

Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple and diverse projects concurrently.

Advanced knowledge in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications we are looking for:
Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or completion of a recognized Supply Chain Management program plus a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a union environment.

Experience in SAP or an equivalent warehouse management application required.

Demonstrated experience in material services, inventory control, and procurement functions would be an asset.

Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within the electrical utility industry, would be an asset.

Special Conditions:
Valid Class 5 drivers permit

Travel within Alberta with possible overnight stays is a requirement of this position.
