Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Systems Engineer located within the Air Traffic Systems Branch of the Digital Directorate at Hanscom AFB, MA. The position provides Dept of Defense systems engineering support to the FAA-led Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar (SENSR) program.
BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, policies and practices of DoD systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and AFI 63-101/20-101.
Possess the knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing program status vs cost, schedule, and performance baselines.
Ability to plan, research, analyze and assess system acquisition in terms of requirements, development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment.
Demonstrated experience with System Safety with a solid understanding of system safety principles and processes.
Experience in developing and implementing formal system safety documentation is desired.
Experience with participating in or leading a System Safety Group (SSG) or System Safety Working Group (SSWG) is desired.
Experience with planning, developing, and initiating training program for DoD systems is desired.
Effective oral and written communication.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Experience with large DoD system acquisitions.
Experience with acquisition of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) systems is desired.
Understanding of surveillance radar systems is desired.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Analyze and advocate DoD concepts and requirements in this multi-agency effort; provide planning inputs to the integration of DoD acquisition system requirements in other-agency acquisition processes.
Provide system/program engineering and technical support to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
Define preliminary safety and performance requirements and a solution concept of operations that specify how well the new capability must perform in the intended operational environment.
In an Integrated Program Team (IPT) environment, establish program requirements for System Safety.
Perform safety engineering, to include planning, conducting, obtaining, sustaining, and documenting system safety throughout solution development and implementation. Specific activities include identifying, classifying, analyzing, and assessing hazards; developing measures to mitigate hazards or reduce risk to an acceptable level; verification that mitigation measures are incorporated into product design and implementation; and assessing and mitigating residual risk as needed.
Perform system safety risk assessments.
Address environment, safety, and occupational health (ESOH)concerns, including electrical safety, fire safety, indoor air quality, material handling, and personal protective equipment.
Develop and implement a Programmatic Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE), System Safety Management Plan (SSMP), System Safety Program Plan (SSPP), and Hazard Tracking System.
