The organization is seeking a Tech Support Engineer to provide high level technical support in circumstances that are beyond the expertise of the Technical Support Specialist.
The Technical Support Engineer is tasked with being tier 2 support to our customer as they face difficult technical product support issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and assigns work projects such as converting new technical hardware, software and firmware.
Evaluates expanding or enhanced technical operations; makes recommendations for improvement and upgrades to hardware, software and firmware to manage workload and system requirements.
Provides technical support—identifying, investigating, and resolving users’ problems with technical hardware, software and firmware —for problems that are beyond the expertise of Technical Support Representatives.
Applies knowledge of technical hardware, software, firmware, and procedures to solve problems.
Collaborates with other employees to research and resolve problems.
Collaborates with developers and technicians to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to technical programs.
Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
Develops and communicates department projects and goals.
Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
At least four years of related experience required.
