Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a technician to join our team. This post will provide an exciting opportunity for you to advance your career in the rapidly developing field of transgenics. You will be qualified to IAT Level 2 or equivalent and have experience in animal husbandry.

Alternatively, we will consider those with no previous experience or professional qualifications onto our technicians training programme as a Trainee Technician (Grade 2: £20,047 – £20,092 p.a.).

The emphasis for the trainee technician is pure animal husbandry for which no previous experience is required. You will have a caring attitude to animals, which is essential, together with a flexible approach to work and the ability to work in a small team. This trainee post will ideally suit someone looking for a job with career prospects as there will be opportunities provided within the Department of Biomedical Services for personal development. Training will be provided which will lead to recognised qualifications. When you feel confident within your role you will be required to participate in a staff overtime rota which provides weekend/Bank Holiday cover.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
