Job Description



AMG Superalloys UK Limited is a highly successful manufacturer of high specification specialty metals, alloys and materials, and an acknowledged global leader in the industry. We produce high purity chromium plus many other alloys in addition to the laboratory services we offer.

We are looking for an administrator to join our Purchasing team for an initial period of 3 months, to support with the administrative tasks in this department.

Purpose

  • To work as an active member of the Procurement department assisting with operational duties to meet the company’s profitability and cash management objectives

Principal Accountabilities

  • To issue and send out purchase orders to suppliers
  • Set up delivery schedules to meet the sites’ capabilities, understanding delivery restrictions
  • To schedule deliveries of incoming materials on the system
  • To call off and follow up existing orders for materials and services
  • To help in controlling raw material stocks in line with the companies targets
  • To monitor and maintain the levels of hazardous raw materials on site below (COMAH) threshold
  • To manage and maintain Supplier data
  • To maintain the supply chain side of the company’s quality system (Supplier Log), adding new, update current information of suppliers and maintain auditable data
  • To request suppliers for their quality certificates, quality questionnaires, MSDS or any other information necessary to keep the Supplier Log up to date
  • To update and maintain supplier vendor performance reports with regards to quality, delivery and lead- times
  • To handle complaints efficiently and to close them in a timely fashion
  • To reconcile invoices against actual deliveries of raw materials at month end and investigate invoice queries
  • To request quotes from suppliers to assist the sales teams
  • To assist with crucial month end reporting
  • To liaise with internal teams regarding product lead times and availability
  • To carry out any other tasks required by the Supply Chain Manager / Purchasing Manager

Knowledge and Experience

  • Purchasing administration experience advantageous but not essential
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organise work load and work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both on the telephone and face to face
  • Deliver a high standard of both verbal and written communication
  • Good planning and organisation skills with the ability to multitask
  • Meet deadlines with complete and appropriate information
  • Willingness to learn in a rapidly changing environment
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must be computer literate and have a practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • An effective communicator used to dealing with internal and external customers at all levels
  • High level of accuracy

Package:

Hours: 08.00am – 04.00pm

Salary: £18,000 per annum
