I am currently in the market seeking a Tendering/Proposals Engineer for a company that holds leading positions in the fields of separation, reaction, and mixing technology. With locations for sales, engineering, production as well as installation and maintenance service. They have a worldwide presence for its clients in the oil & gas, hydrocarbon processing and other industrial markets.

The role:

You will be responsible for the compilation, issue and management of tenders based on customer RFQs, ensuring on-time issue, commercial compliance and appropriate risk assessment in accordance with Company processes, supporting year-on-year growth of Order Intake and margins

Act as key user for the opportunity identification tool, providing Sales with information to support their sales plans based on customer future plant outages, upgrades and new plant installations

Responsible for receipt, registering and prioritization of customer RFQs based on demand

Fully review technical and commercial requirements of RFQs, compiling required tenders meeting scope requirements and company regulations and guidelines

Prepare accurate cost make-ups considering tender scopes, manpower, logistics and tooling requirements, and subsequent commercial tender with approvals in accordance with Delegation of Authority

Conduct Risk Assessments prior to issue of tenders, closely coordinating with Sales, Legal and Finance functions

Support Sales with vendor pre-qualifications as required

Support Sales with tender follow-up with prioritisation based on maximizing Order Intake

Undertake tender uploads to customer portals

Coordinate with Sales ensuring CRM status of tenders is update and correct to ensure accuracy of sales funnel and RFC

Create tender reporting to Sales and the business for MIS reporting and to support Sales planning

Participate in Lost Bid Analysis and contribute to actions to increase tender/order hit rate

Collaborate with other Sales functions where scopes of work include materials and turnaround works

Participate in Sales/Operations handover meetings, providing all necessary support

Work with regional line management and Sales to align with market opportunities and ensure implementation of standard processes and best practices

About you:

Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering

Experience in mechanical engineering related tendering, preferably in Oil & Gas or Chemical segment with knowledge of industry practices & standards

Experience in creation of technical/commercial tenders

Contractual terms experience

Experience of international projects

Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001/ISO45001, SCC

Commercial acumen

General computer & software skills
