As a therapy assistant you will work under the direction and support of the occupational therapists and physiotherapists to provide individual and group treatments on the adult or older adult wards and neighbouring therapy rooms. You will have an awareness of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and dementia and possess skills to positively engage and interact with people from a variety of backgrounds and with differing needs.

We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, compassionate, flexible and creative in their approach and can work alongside nursing staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide quality and effective care. You will possess personal resilience with both emotional and physical ability to work in an acute mental health setting. You will demonstrate an enthusiasm for professional development and will be motivated to further your understanding and skills through various training opportunities. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive therapy team, benefiting from a comprehensive supervision and appraisal system, with a commitment to staff development and evidence-based practice.

Good levels of English (written and verbal) and computer literacy are essential, as well as a positive outlook to promote person centred and recovery focused care. The role currently requires working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30.
