Clerk Grade 7/8 offering salary from $99,431.00 + super
The Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) has an opportunity for a Water Regulation Officer to undertake licencing and approval assessments to ensure effective, efficient, transparent and accountable delivery of licences and approvals in relation to water resource regulation in NSW.
The Water Regulation Officer works within the Licensing & Approvals team to assess complex applications for water access. You will undertake environmental assessment and apply conditions to ensure sustainable water use in accordance with the legislation, regulations and water sharing plans.
You will, input, analyse and interpret water resource data, provide technical reports on water resource management and facilitate and negotiate between affected parties to resolve disputes/objections in relation to water resource regulation in NSW. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in water management and legislation is also highly regarded.
Knowledge and understanding of the aims and principles of sustainable natural resource management.
Experience in the regulation of water and/or environmental impact assessment of projects
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Sciences or natural resources, planning or other relevant field and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience in the industry
